Our Veterinarians
Dr. Paul Brown
|
Dr. Brown graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College in 1988, grew up on hobby farms outside of Montreal and Ottawa. He credits his parents with his success as a veterinarian. They encouraged him to care for every kind of creature from pigeons to skunks, even turning over a room in their house to a "herd" of guinea pigs. Dr. Brown has a special interest in internal medicine, which he sees as a series of mysteries to be unraveled. He lives with his daughters and a menagerie of pets.

Dr. Denene Clifford
|
Dr. Clifford is from the town of Sydney Mines, on beautiful Cape Breton Island. She began her studies at the Nova Scotia Agricultural college, and received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from the Ontario Veterinary college at the University of Guelph in 1988.
Dr. Clifford and Dr. Brown's alliance has been a long one as they first became aquainted during their pre-veterinary studies, and are classmates as well as business partners.
Dr. Clifford has a strong interest in surgery and is the senior surgeon on staff. She also enjoys solving medical cases, and all aspects of hospital care. Her hands on approach started early, as she first began working in veterinary clinics in grade 9.
Although always a Cape Bretoner at heart, she enjoys living in Ottawa, and loves practising in Navan.

As a CEF Level 1 coach, she has taught riding and trained horses to ride and drive for fifteen years, and directed a residential riding camp for 8 years. As a client of the Navan Veterinary Hospital for twenty-one years, Dr. Clifford jokingly remarked on her return to university studies, “You can work for us when you’re finished.” Six years later, Dr. Pelot joined the Navan team. She says, “I live the people in the clinic, I love working near home, and most of all I love working with the dogs and cats.” Dr. Pelot continues to be active with horses, and her other interests include music, travel, and spending time with her very large family.
